President wants power to ‘stop’ like Quiboloy

President Rodrigo Duterte seems to “envy” the power to “stop” earthquakes which self-proclaimed “Son of God” Pastor Apollo Quiboloy claimed he wielded when a tremor rocked Mindanao last month.

At the launching of the Acacia Hotel in Davao City, the President said in jest that he “believed” that Quiboloy was really responsible for stopping one of the magnitude 6 temblors in October.

“If I can only have the power against the corrupt to stop them, because Filipinos cannot be asked nicely,” he said.

It was in apparent reference to the pastor’s pronouncement on the Oct. 30 of his “Give Us This Day” television show that he “ordered” the earthquake to stop.

“I just don’t have the power. If I only had the power,” he quipped to the laughter and applause of the crowd.—JULIE M. AURELIO
