A total of 120 brand new ACUs which cost a total of P167 million were purchased by Sumitomo-MHI-TESP, the project’s contractor.
It is part of the DOTr’s P18-billion MRT-3 rehabilitation program funded through an Official Development Assistance loan from Japan with a 40-year, 0.1 percent interest per annum and a 12-year grace period.
The first batch of the ACUs has already been installed last August, the DOTr said.
