P258K worth of ‘shabu’ seized from 5 drug suspects in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines – At least 38 grams of shabu worth P258,000 were seized from five drug suspects after police conducted a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tangos North, Navotas City on Thursday.

Reports from the Northern Police District (NPD) said that the suspects were arrested by joint operatives from the Navotas City Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency along R. Domingo Street.

The suspects were identified as Dave Angeles, 35; Raymond Adalin, 24; Lewie Garcia, 42; Joseph Bergantin, 45, all of Barangay Tangos North, and Mico Robles, 24, of Barangay Tangos South.

Police were able to recover one small sachet of supposed shabu (crystal meth), two small coin purses with various other sachets of shabu.  One of the purses had nine sachets, while the other one had seven sachets.

Seven other sachets were also recovered along with three pieces of P100 bills, which was used as the marked money.  The recovered money amounted to P1,000.

NPD said the evidence were submitted to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Crime Laboratory Office, while the suspects were detained at the Navotas City Police’s detention facility while their inquest proceeding is still pending.
