2 Koreans lose P100k cash to robbers in Pasay

MANILA, Philippines — Two Korean nationals lost P100,000 worth of cash to thieves in Pasay City on Thursday morning.

An initial report from Pasay City police said Jo Kyeung Won, 23, and Kang Min Kil, 23, booked a vehicle through a ride-hailing app to go to Pasay.

While traveling along Roxas Boulevard, a Toyota Vios overtook and blocked their vehicle.

Then, the suspects alighted from the other vehicle and approached the victims’ car at 1:30 a.m. Using a mallet, suspects smashed the driver’s window and declared a robbery.

Suspects forcibly took the cash from victims and escaped the crime scene.

Korean nationals then filed a complaint at Pasay Police Station Investigation and Detection Management Branch.

Pasay police chief Col. Bernard Yang said he ordered investigators to interview the victims’ driver to track down the suspects’ whereabouts.
