Boy shoots dad to death in Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY – An eight-year-old boy shot his father to death in their house in Sitio Manluy-a, Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday night.
Jessy Obas, 39, succumbed to three gunshot wounds in the chest, the police said.
Before the shooting incident, the victim, who was under the influence of liquor physically manhandled his 8-year-old son in the presence of his two other siblings, Lt. Col. Necerato Sabando, officer-in-charge of the Sipalay City Police Station, said.
The suspect, whose identity has been withheld, took the .38 caliber revolver of his father and shot him three times in the chest.
The minor is now under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Sipalay City.
Police investigation showed that the victim reportedly maltreated his three children when he was under the influence of liquor.

The suspect is the youngest among the three siblings. Their mother is working in Manila.
