Duterte: All gov’t agency transactions must be settled by December 15

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday ordered government agencies to settle all transactions in their office by December 15, 2019 as he lamented the slow delivery of services to the people.

“It seems that things are moving very slow and that is why it is still a source of corruption,” Duterte said in his speech during the 80th anniversary of the Department of National Defense in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

“The longer you seat in the paper or do nothing at all, either you are not working, you are I don’t know, but you don’t belong to government,” he added.

He said transactions pending before government agencies must be decided before December 15.

“I must have your decision of the papers before you, and I said last night it has to be December 15,” he said.

“It’s been so many months now. Papers that are on your table must be out with a decision. If it’s for approval, good. If it’s for denial, fine. But let it out,” he added.
