BAGUIO CITY –– Eleven people were hurt while crossing a footbridge that collapsed in Sadanga town, Mountain Province on Wednesday morning, local disaster officials said.
The victims came from a wake and were heading home when the 28-year-old footbridge at Sitio Futyang in Barangay Betwagan crashed down about 7 a.m., the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office said.
It was not immediately known what caused the footbridge to collapse, but local officials said it could be due to overloading.
The victims were taken to the Bontoc General Hospital and Luis Hora Memorial Hospital for treatment. Kimberlie Quitasol
