Manila traffic enforcer in bribery video sacked

MANILA, Philippines—A traffic enforcer who was caught on video receiving a bribe from a motorist in Manila has been relieved.

The Manila Public Information Office, in a statement Tuesday evening, said Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) chief Dennis Viaje has confirmed that they have already sacked the traffic enforcer for extortion.

The enforcer, who was assigned at UN Avenue corner Taft Avenue under MTPB Sector 5, was exposed via a Facebook video uploaded by a netizen on Monday.
