No-fly zone around Clark, Bulacan venues during SEA Games opening, closing rites

MANILA, Philippines –  The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Tuesday said it has issued notices to airmen on the implementation of  a “no-fly zone” in the surrounding areas of the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan and New Clark City in Pampanga where the SEA Games will be held.

All aircraft operations within three nautical miles and general aviation flights within 40 nautical miles of the said venues will be restricted from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. during the opening and closing ceremonies of the SEA Games on Nov. 30 and Dec. 11, respectively.

CAAP said that the no-fly zone will also restrict operations of unmanned aircraft vehicles or drones.

The agency also assured that airline operations at the Clark International Airport will not be affected by the no-fly zones.

“CAAP is asking the public’s cooperation in the implementation and assures that airline operations at Clark International Airport will not be affected by the issuance of NOTAMs,” CAAP said in a statement. #
