MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Ramon remains almost stationary but continues to threaten Babuyan Islands, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
Ramon was last spotted 120 kilometers (km) east of Calayan, Cagayan with 120 kilometer per hour (kph) maximum sustained winds near the center and gustiness of up to 165 kph.
In its 11 a.m. update, Pagasa said Ramon will bring moderate with frequent heavy rain over Batanes, the northern portion of Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands, Apayao and the northern portion of Ilocos Norte.
The northern portion of Isabela, Kalinga, Abra and the rest of Cagayan and Ilocos Sur, on the other hand, will experience light to moderate with intermittent heavy rain.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 is still hoisted over the Northern portion of Cagayan, particularly in Santa Praxedes, Claveria, Sanchez Mira, Pamplona, Abulug, Ballesteros, Aparri, Calayan, Camalaniugan, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Gonzaga, and Santa Ana.
TCWS No. 2 remains hoisted over Batanes, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and the rest of Cagayan.
TCWS No. 1, meanwhile, is raised in the provinces of Mountain Province, Benguet, Ifugao, La Union, Pangasinan and northern portion of Isabela, particularly, Sta. Maria, San Pablo, Maconacon, Cabagan, Sto. Tomas, Quezon, Delfin Albano, Tumauini, Divilacan, Quirino, Roxas, Mallig, San Manuel, Burgos, Gamu and Ilagan City.
The low-pressure area, Pagasa said, was estimated to be at 720 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar and will likely develop into a Tropical Depression within 24 hours.
