MANILA, Philippines — In just over three minutes, the Senate on Tuesday approved the proposed P8.2-billion budget of the Office of the President (OP) for 2020.
Not a single question was raised when Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, former presidential aide, presented the budget proposal for the OP.
Go assured that the OP’s budget would be safeguarded and that checks and balance would be observed.
“Every centavo must be wisely spent to help and support the Filipino nation. It is the people’s money and it is just right that the government should give it back to them,” Go said.
Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri manifested that no senator registered to interpellate on the OP’s budget.
He then moved for the submission and approval of the budget for the president’s office.
