THE body of the boy who was carried away by the strong current of the Butuanon River in Mandaue City during Tuesday’s downpour was found yesterday in Pier 8 of the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City.
A crewman from one of the boats docked in the area saw the floating body of 7-year-old John Lloyd Canete, at 6 a.m. and retrieved it.
John Lloyd’s body was turned over to relatives.
The boy went for a swim in the Butuanon River on Tuesday afternoon.

They all transfer to the barangay gym since their houses were within the three-meter easement zone of the river.
He said the 13 families asked for financial assistance so that they could go home to the provinces.
Soco said he would discuss this with Galva Phil. officials.
