MANILA, Philippines — Vice President Leni Robredo “does not have to be told or warned” against revealing classified information of the government, opposition Senator Francis Pangilinan said Monday.
“VP Leni already said she knows what she can and cannot share when it comes to classified information,” Pangilinan said in a message to reporters.
Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte said he would remove Robredo as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) should she reveal state secrets to foreign entities.
This comes after Robredo, who the was designated as co-chair of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD), met with anti-drug officials from the US and the United Nations to discuss possible cooperation in addressing the illegal drug problem in the country.
The Vice President reportedly also requested for a list of high-value drug targets.
However, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief Aaron Aquino and Interior Undersecretary Ricojudge Echiverri had reservations on sharing information about high-value targets to Robredo.

But Pangilinan said information should be shared to ensure good cooperation.
“Well, kung gusto nilang magkaroon ng maayos na tulungan dapat pati yung impormasyon, they should be able to share it,” Pangilinan told reporters in an ambush interview.
(Well, if they want to have good cooperation, they should be able to share information).
