Did you know? (Dengue cases)

According to the Epidemiology Bureau of the Department of Health, a total of 271,480 dengue cases were reported nationwide from Jan. 1 to Aug. 31 this year. This was 95 percent higher than the 85,981 cases recorded during the same period in 2018. There were 1,107 deaths due to dengue nationwide as of August this year, according to latest statistics. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
