Finance guru Ernest Leung succumbs to malaria at 80
Ernest Leung—a former finance minister, banking regulator, development banker, capital market guardian and high school teacher—passed away on Friday. He was 80.
An outdoor-lover, Leung succumbed to malaria, which he picked up from his last adventure trip in Papua New Guinea, close family members and friends confirmed on Friday night.
He is survived by wife Edwina and children Nikolai Konrad, Theobolt Yustakew, Jerome and Erica Andrew (Leung-Rodriguez).

Leung’s remains were set to be cremated on Saturday.
A Mass will be held on Nov. 19, 7 p.m., at Christ The King church in Greenmeadows.
