College student nabbed for threatening to upload nude photos of minor gamer

MANILA, Philippines — The Quezon City police arrested on Friday a college student for threatening to post  on social media nude photos of a female minor gamer.

A report from the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Saturday identified the suspect as Henry Rubio, 19, a first-year college student.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect and the victim have been Mobile Legends playmates since April 2019.

Police said Rubio later asked the victim for her nude photos. The victim later sent the photos to Rubio through Instagram.

On Friday, Rubio threatened the victim that he will post the nude photos on social media if she would refuse to meet him that day along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.

The victim’s family then sought the help of Batasan police station officers who arrested the suspect at his house in Barangay Holy Spirit.

Rubio is now detained at the Batasan police station and will be facing charges for violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and the Special Protection of Children against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
