MANILA, Philippines — How soon is soon to start putting up Christmas decorations? Not now, a homeowners association told a family in Texas.
Claudia and Nick Simonis put up their decorations, which include an inflatable snowman, reindeer, and Santa Claus aboard a helicopter last November 1, according to a CNN report on Friday.
But three days after, they received a letter from the homeowners association, Diamond Association Management and Consulting (DAMC), asking to take down the decorations until closer to the holidays.
Their family is already in Christmas spirit, but the couple said they had to put up decorations earlier since Claudia is pregnant and her due date is Christmas Day.
“We’re in the Christmas spirit just like anybody else. We love the holidays, and my wife is very active in it,” Nick said, as quoted in the report.
“We just wanted to get everything set up, so that way, we can relax. If the baby comes early, we don’t have to worry about it,” he added.
Despite the notification from the homeowners association, Claudia said their neighbors have been supportive of them putting up decorations in time for Christmas.
“We got a lot of support from our neighbors. Every single one of them supported us by putting up their decorations and posting messages,” she said.
