NCRPO on full alert from Nov. 25 to Dec. 14 for SEA Games 2019

MANILA, Philippines—The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) will be on full alert from Nov. 25 to Dec. 14 for the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games 2019.

Acting NCRPO chief Police Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas said Friday that a total of 8,000 policemen will be deployed to secure players’ billet areas and the games venues throughout the duration of the biennial regional multi-sporting event.

The games, which will start on Nov. 30, will be held in venues in Metro Manila, Clark, Subic and other areas.

The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, the Athletics Stadium, and Aquatic Center in New Clark City, and the Manila Polo Club are among the venues that will welcome athletes from the Philippines’ neighboring countries until Dec. 11.

Sinas said metro police officers will secure 27 billet areas and 19 venues of sporting events in the capital region.

He added that they will start the deployment by Nov. 22.

For now, Sinas said police have yet to receive any threats that may disrupt the peaceful hosting of the Sea Games.
