Digos cops clueless on fatal shooting of traffic office worker near police, Army outposts
DIGOS CITY—Police are still in the dark on the killing on Wednesday, Nov. 13, of a female employee of the Traffic Management Center (TMC) here which took place just a few meters from police and military outposts.
Col. Ernesto Castillo, Digos police chief, said so far what the police know only was that victim Angelica Lazaga, 23, TMC office staffer and resident of Sulop town, Davao del Sur, was gunned down just a few meters from the Satellite Bus Terminal at the village of Aplaya and where a police outpost and command post of soldiers also stood.
Lazaga suffered bullet wounds in the chest and neck that led to her death.
According to police, Lazaga was having lunch with a female friend before reporting for work at a temporary office of the TMC.
As she alighted from a tricycle, a gunman approached her and started shooting. She was shot twice at close range.
The gunman fled aboard a motorcycle driven by an accomplice.
