CLARK FREEPORT –– As many as 1,123 companies administered by state-owned Clark Development Corp. now employ 135,114 workers, according to the latest figures released on Wednesday.

Clark hosts industry leaders like Texas Instruments, Samsung, Posco E&C, Mercedes Benz, SM Prime Holdings, and Yokohama Tires, whose investments amount to US$4.85 billion, the CDC said.

The employment figure is three times bigger than the 30,000 workers hired by the United States government when it operated the former Clark Air Base until 1991.
