Cops seize P1.02-M shabu from ‘high-value target’ in Negros Oriental

MANILA, Philippines — Police and anti-narcotics agents seized more than P1 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) from an alleged high-value target in Negros Oriental on Tuesday night.

In a report from Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO) on Wednesday, law enforcers arrested Regi Calugcugan, alias “Black Knight” during a buy-bust operation.

Members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, NOPPO and Dumaguete City police station conducted the anti-drug operation along Barangay Batinguel in Dumaguete City at 9:24 p.m.

Seized were 150 grams of shabu valued at P1.02 million; marked money worth P1,000; blue sling bag; digital weighing scale; improvised sealer; and cash worth P1,200.

The seized evidence and Calugcugan were brought to the Dumaguete police station for proper disposition and filing of appropriate charges.  /muf
