MANILA, Philippines – Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra has ordered the Office of the City Prosecutor (OCP) to apply for a precautionary hold departure order (PHDO) for the suspects in the death of broadcaster Dindo Generoso.
“All suspects who are still at large, I gave instructions to the OCP regarding the PHDO. But the BI was alerted last week pa [But the BI has been alerted since last week.],” Menardo Guevarra told reporters Wednesday.
The two at-large suspects are Corporal Roger Rubio and Tomacino Aledro, the alleged owner of the Mitsubishi Strada pick-up used in the ambush. The vehicle was reportedly found abandoned in Purok 4, Barangay Balabag, Valencia, Negros Oriental.
Menardo Guevarra said Aledro is already placed in the Bureau of Immigration’s Lookout Bulletin Order (ILBO).
An ILBO is different from a court-issued hold departure order (HDO) since the former only directs the Bureau of Immigration to be on the lookout for the subject and to verify the status of a case against the subject person and not to restrict an individual from leaving the country.
Generoso was killed last Thursday in Dumaguete City.
