5 suspected illegal loggers fall in Quezon

LUCENA CITY –– Police arrested five suspected illegal loggers while transporting undocumented forest products in Buenavista town in Quezon province on Monday night.

A report from the Buenavista police said anti-illegal logging operatives flagged down a mini-truck in Barangay De la Paz around 6 p.m.

The vehicle was loaded with freshly sawn lumber from “bongliw,” “antipolo,” and “marang” trees estimated to be around 1.65 cubic meters (700 board feet).

Truck driver Noli Conducto, helpers Jaime Ramores, Roger Barlita, Dison Conducto, and Jonathan Brucal failed to present permits from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources for the forest products
