MANILA, Philippines – The city government of Pasig appealed to delinquent motorists to redeem their confiscated driver’s license and pay their fines as the amnesty program for traffic violators is valid only until April 2020.
In a tweet on Monday, Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto said that traffic violators would just have to pay their basic fines and a maximum penalty of 10 percent.
“Aalisin na ang 2% na penalty bawat araw [We will remove the 2% daily penalty for traffic violators],” Sotto said.

The amnesty program for traffic violators is effective from Nov. 11, 2019, to April 3, 2020, Sotto said.
Sotto reminded motorists with traffic violations to pay their penalty to avoid issues on the renewal of their driver’s license.
