MANILA, Philippines — A driver of motorcycle ride-hailing service Angkas and his cohort were arrested for allegedly yielding 24 sachets of “shabu” worth P20,400 in a buy-bust operation in Quezon City.
Col. Arthur Bisnar, officer-in-charge of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), identified the suspect as Jomas Ocfemia, 34, and his cohort as Rhea Calumba, 24.
The two were arrested by combined operatives of the Cubao Police Station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – National Capital Region at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday in Barangay San Roque, Cubao.
During the operation, a motorcycle, cellphone, and the buy-bust money were recovered from the suspects, according to police.
Bisnar said in a QCPD report on Monday that Ocfemia was previously arrested and charged for the alleged sale and possession of illegal drugs in November 2016. He was released after availing of plea bargaining before the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.
Calumba, meanwhile, was a drug surrenderer in Barangay San Roque.
Police, however, again closely monitored the suspects after receiving information that the two are still allegedly involved in the drug trade.
Drug charges will be filed against the suspects.
