LUCENA CITY –– Two suspected village-level “shabu” (crystal meth) peddlers were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Infanta town in Quezon province early Monday, police said.

Anti-illegal drug operatives collared Richard Berin, 47, and Erlyn Joy Quirrez, 19, after the two sold shabu to an undercover police officer in a transaction in a beach resort in Barangay Abiawin around 4 a.m., Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said in a report.

Authorities seized three plastic sachets of “shabu” worth P3,885 in the street market.

Police said the suspects also sold shabu to picnickers in several resorts in the locality. Delfin T. Mallari Jr. /lzb
