Trader robbed, killed in Manila

Manila policemen are now looking for a resident of  San Andres Bukid who is  suspected to have robbed and shot dead a friend on Tuesday evening.

Jake Alvarez, 35, was later seen with a handgun  climbing up the rooftops in the neighborhood to escape,  minutes after he allegedly shot Crisostomo Busano, 40, a businessman.

At around 9 p.m., bystanders  from Barangay 766, Zone 84,  heard multiple gunshot wounds and found Busano slumped and bloodied on  his motorcycle  on Onyx Street.

Attempts to save his life by rushing him to the hospital proved futile, said case investigator Police Officer 3 Alonzo Layugan of the Manila Police District Homicide section.

A resident of Onyx Street, Carolina Sayaw,  told police that moments after the shooting, she  spotted Alvarez running up to the third floor of their building with a gun.

The suspect then jumped on the roofs of neighboring houses to  escape.

Busano’s wife, Julieta, told police that    her husband was carrying an estimated P10,000 in cash.

There was no trace of the money when police searched the crime scene.

Residents reported  that Alvarez was a “former friend” of Busano.

Police were able recover four empty shells of  a .45-caliber gun in the area.
