Palace declares Nov. 12 a holiday in Valenzuela City
MANILA, Philippines — Valenzuela residents can now actively participate in celebrating the city’s 396th foundation day after Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea signed Proclamation No. 834 which declared Nov. 12 a special nonworking holiday in the city.
“We commemorate this milestone yearly to remind Valenzuelanos of the sacrifices of our forebears whose industry forged Valenzuela [into] what it is today — from a sleepy town into a bustling industrial city,” Mayor Rex Gatchalian told the Inquirer.
Among the highlights of the celebration will be the launching of Paspas Permit, an online application system that speeds up and facilitates the issuance of business permits (see related story on this page); the opening of the Botika ng Bayan at the Valenzuela City Emergency Hospital in Barangay Dalandanan on Nov. 15 and a medical mission in Barangay Paso de Blas, also on Nov. 15. —Meg Adonis
