1 dead, 2 wounded in hostage-taking incident in Dipolog jail
MANILA, Philippines—Authorities said Wednesday that negotiations were ongoing at a hostage-taking incident inside the Dipolog City Jail during which at least one detainee was killed.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., spokesman of the Philippine National Police, said that a group of inmates took hostage several other detainees inside Cell No. 2 around 12:25 p.m.
He said the Zamboanga del Norte provincial police had confirmed the death of one of the inmates while two others were reported wounded.
