Metro Manila’s first “Botika ng Bayan” (BnB) has opened in Marikina City.
The city government said that residents could now go to BnB, a small storeroom on the fourth floor of the city health office, where they could avail themselves of medicine “without paying a single centavo.”
Health Undersecretary Enrique Domingo said residents would need only to present a doctor’s prescription.
In a statement, the local government said the BnB would carry antibiotics, topical ointments, antithrombotic, antiinflammatory, vitamins, antacids and other essential drugs for asthma, hypertension, diabetes and dyslipidemia.
The Marikina BnB is backed by the health department which has assured the local government that it will replenish any dwindling stock.
