According to the Epidemiology Bureau of the Department of Health, a total of 416 cases of acute viral hepatitis were reported nationwide from Jan. 1 to May 25 this year. This was 34 percent lower compared to the 632 cases reported during the same period in 2018. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
