TAGBILARAN CITY –– Police arrested a man who allegedly extorted money from another man who lost his mobile phone.
City police arrested Emmanuel Lumacang, 32, a resident of Barangay Dampas here, in an entrapment operation on Wednesday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Oscar Boyles, city police chief, said Jeremiah Lecias, reported to the police station that he lost his Samsung A30 mobile phone.
Lecias said Lumacang told him that he could only get his phone back if he paid P7,678.
This prompted the police to hatch an entrapment operation, which led to the arrest of Lumacang.
Lumacang, who is now detained at the Tagbilaran City Police Station, will face charges of robbery extortion.
