Palace to set Duterte-Robredo Palace meeting on drug czar post
MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea to invite Vice President Leni Robredo for a meeting in Malacañang.
Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo said Robredo is welcome to visit Malacañang and talk to the President.
“In fact the President told me last night Bingbong (Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea) will invite her,” Panelo said in Filipino in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel on Thursday.
Panelo said he asked Duterte during the Cabinet meeting on Wednesday night if Robredo would be invited to Malacañang.
“Yes [I] will invite her,” he said, quoting Duterte.
Panelo told reporters Wednesday that Robredo needs to talk to Duterte to know the extent of her authority as co-chairperson of the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD). /gsg
