MANILA, Philippines — A lawmaker is pushing for an inquiry supposedly to track down and identify government personnel allegedly responsible for the proliferation of illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators (Pogos) in the country.

In a statement, Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers also called on the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp.  and the Bureau of Internal Revenue to account for and disclose in public the real revenues that Pogos have provided to the national treasury. —Melvin Gascon
