LEGAZPI CITY — Police on Wednesday announced the killing of what they said was a communist guerrilla in a clash with soldiers in the town of Milagros, Masbate province.
Maj. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said the identity of the New People’s Army member was not yet determined.
She said soldiers were on patrol when they chanced upon a group of suspected NPA rebels at the village of San Antonio here around 6:30 a.m.
She said police recovered rebel firearms including a World War II-era Carbine and Armalite rifles.
