MANILA, Philippines — Several domestic flights were canceled on Wednesday afternoon due to inclement weather prevailing over some parts of the country.
The Manila International Airport Authority (Miaa) said the following flights are canceled as of 2 p.m.:
Skyjet
- M8 911 Manila-San Vicente
- M8 912 San Vicente-Manila
- M8 713 – Manila-Busuanga
- M8 714 – Busuanga-Manila
The weather bureau said that Tropical Storm “Quiel” has slightly intensified on Wednesday and could develop into a severe tropical storm in the next 24 hours.

“Quiel” and the tail-end of a cold front will bring light to moderate with occasional heavy rains over the Babuyan group of islands, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, Antique, and Cuyo and Kalayaan islands in Palawan between Wednesday and Thursday morning, Pagasa said.
Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains will likewise prevail over Batanes, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Aklan, Iloilo, Oriental Mindoro, and the rest of Cagayan and Palawan including Calamian Islands, it added. /jpv
