Quezon City cop shot dead in parked car

MANILA, Philippines — A police officer was shot dead in his car by unidentified assailants on a motorcycle in Quezon City on Tuesday night.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) identified the victim as Lt. Ernesto Mendoza Jr. of the QCPD Logistics Division.

Mendoza was in his car, which was parked on Malingap Street near the corner of Mapagkawanggawa Street in Barangay Teachers Village, when the assailants shot him at 8:10 p.m.

Mendoza died inside his car while the assailants fled the scene.
