Did You Know: November is National Children’s Month

04:00 AM November 05, 2019

National Children’s Month is observed every November by virtue of Republic Act No. 10661 signed on May 29, 2015, by then President Benigno Aquino III.

It commemorates the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by the United Nations General Assembly on Nov. 20, 1989.

The act designated the Department of Social Welfare and Development, National Youth Commission and Council for the Welfare of Children as the lead agencies in charge of the activities marking the occasion. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
