DOJ forms team to probe slay try on broadcaster
The Department of Justice (DOJ) will help in the investigation and prosecution of suspects in the shooting of Sultan Kudarat radio broadcaster Benjie Caballero.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Friday said a team of DOJ prosecutors would lead investigators from law enforcement agencies, thus expediting the case buildup against the perpetrators.
“For this purpose [we] will coordinate with all law enforcement agencies,” he said.
Guevarra said Caballero was shot by unidentified assailants on Wednesday while waiting for a ride in Tacurong City.
Caballero is the acting station manager of local radio station Juan FM and a tabloid stringer. —JEROME ANING
