MANILA, Philippines — Major cemeteries in Metro Manila were so far orderly during the observance of All Saints’ Day on Friday morning.
National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) acting chief Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas on Friday said that no untoward incident have so far been reported at the cemeteries that the police are monitoring, including Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina City and La Loma Cemetery in Caloocan City.
“So far orderly naman ang mga cemeteries natin. [So far, our cemeteries are seen orderly]. Hindi naman nagsiksikan [It was not that crowded]. All the plans and policies of different cemeteries were implemented and were followed,” he said in a press conference.
“Everything is in order and we’re really happy that no untoward incident in these areas,” he added.
A red alert status has been declared since Oct. 30 to tighten security in public places, especially in cemeteries and transport terminals.
Sinas said that no injury was also reported at the cemeteries. He attributed this to the cooler weather on Friday.
“Walang nagcollapse. Hindi masyadong mainit plus lumamig ‘yung kalye [No one collapsed. The weather was not that hot and the roads were cooled),” he said. /jpv
