MANILA, Philippines — Grave misconduct charges will be filed against four policemen who allegedly tried to bring in contraband at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) acting chief Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas said on Friday.
“Grave misconduct,” Sinas said in a press conference when asked what charges will be filed against the accused policemen.
“Ang maximum penalty nyan is dismissal, ang medium penalty nyan is one rank demotion, ang minimum penalty is two to six months suspension,” he added.
Sixteen policemen were reportedly caught with cellular phones outside the NCR Quad Intel Force in Bilibid. Sinas said two policemen supposedly directed two of the 16 policemen to bring in cigarettes and alcoholic drinks inside the NBP.
He did not yet identify the policemen.
