MANILA, Philippines – Some 55,000 visitors have flocked the Manila North Cemetery for the first half of All Saints’ Day based on the estimates of the Manila Police District (MPD).

The volume of people at the cemetery’s main gate near Blumentritt Street remains high, as officers inspect the bags of visitors.  Police said they will confiscate pointed items, flammable materials, alcoholic drinks, and other fluids in containers as a precautionary measure.

Manila’s local government has also cordoned Blumentritt Street, not allowing cars without gate pass to get in to ensure the easy flow of people entering the cemetery. /kga
