297 collared in 3-day Quezon cop operations
LUCENA CITY — The three-day “simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation” (Sacleo) in Quezon province led to the arrests of 297 suspected criminals, police said Friday.
Simultaneous operations in 39 towns and two cities from Oct. 26 to 27 resulted to the arrests of 29 suspected drug pushers and confiscation of P96,800 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) in the street market, Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police director, said in a report.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives also seized two kilos of marijuana an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P110,300 during the same period.
Police also arrested 71 wanted persons; 38 illegal gamblers; four with illegal firearms and subsequently seized five undocumented guns; five illegal fishers; three illegal loggers, and 147 violators of municipal ordinances.
Sacleo replaced the police “one-time, big-time operation,” an all-out war against all local forms of criminalities in a given period./lzb
