Angat Dam’s water level slightly rises

MANILA, Philippines – Angat Dam’s water level slightly increased on Friday,  the state weather bureau said.

In an advisory released 6 a.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the dam’s water level rose to 187.14 meters from 186.87 meters on Thursday.

The water level remains above the 180-millimeter minimum operating level of the dam despite a drop in the past days.

Angat Dam,, located in Bulacan, serves as one of Metro Manila’s main source of water.

The water level at Ipo Dam also slightly increased to 100.27 meters  from 100.26 meters on Thursday and the La Mesa Dam at 77.35 meters from 77.34 meters.

Ambuklao Dam’s water level likewise rose to 748. 12 meters from 747.97 meters.

Metro Manila and adjacent provinces experienced a water supply crisis earlier this year after water levels in Angat and La Mesa dams dipped to historic lows. /gsg
