MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday visited the tomb of his parents in Davao City ahead of the “Undas” celebration.
Duterte arrived at the final resting place of his parents, Governor Vicente and mother Soledad, at the Roman Catholic Cemetery at 6:38 p.m.
Photos shared by his trusted former aide Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, showed Duterte seating in front of his parents’ tomb.
Duterte is set to fly to Bangkok on November 1, All Saints’ Day, to attend the 35th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit.
Duterte was heavily criticized in 2018 after he mocked the Catholic celebration of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day in the country.
