YMCA sets Christmas camping for kids

FIFTY street children aged 8 to 12 will be treated to a “Xmas Camping in the City” from Dec. 31 to Jan. 1.

The  participants will have breakfast on the first day at the YMCA. The children will then be brought to SM City Cebu and Ayala to play at Time Zone and World’s of Fun.

These kids have never experienced taking the escalator nor playing in the gaming center, the YMCA said in its press statement.

At least 10 volunteers will guide the city campers.

After a whole morning tour, the children will take their lunch at Jollibee Ayala, with the fast-food crew and mascot engaging them in games and entertainment.

In the evening, they will be treated to a dinner at the YMCA until midnight to usher the New Year.

The 50 street children will be sleeping in an air-conditioned room at the YMCA.

The city campers will be given T-shirts for them to wear during the city camping.
