Got robbed? Manila South Cemetery’s website helps track down perpetrators

MANILA, Philippines — If you got robbed in the Manila South Cemetery, this website could help you find the snatcher.

In an interview with reporters on Thursday, Raffy Mendez, assistant administrative officer of the Manila South Cemetery, said the website has a livestream which oversees areas of the 25-hectare cemetery.

“Eto yung galaw natin dito sa loob ng cemetery nakalive-stream ‘yan; lahat ng galaw dito pati snatcher makikita, pati pandurukot nila (All movements are being watched; all movements even snatchers and their illegal activities are being watched),” Mendez said.

The livestream, which can be found at www.manilasouthcemetery.com.ph, has footage of closed-circuit televisions installed in key areas of the cemetery.

The website also aids visitors in searching for the location of the grave of their departed family or relatives.

“Pwede mo hanapin, i-click mo lang ‘yung apelyido, malalaman mo na agad kung saang lot, saang grave, nandyan din,” Mendez said.

(You may click on your loved ones’ surname and then you can search for their lot and grave.)
