MANILA, Philippines — The northeast monsoon and low-pressure area (LPA) east of Mindanao are expected to bring overcast skies and rain in many parts of the country this weekend, as the nation observes “Undas” or All Saints’ Day and All Souls Day.

According to a special weather bulletin released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the southward migration of northeast monsoon will make parts of Northern and Central Luzon, including Metro Manila, experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains from November 1 to November 3.

Occasional light rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora Province are also likely, according to PAgasa.

The approaching LPA, meanwhile, will bring cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms in Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao from November 1 to November 3.

“Moderate to strong winds coming from the northeast is expected to prevail over northern and central Luzon with moderate to rough coastal waters,” the state weather bureau said.

“Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas,” it added. /kga
