MANILA, Philippines – Malacañang has announced that work in government offices will be suspended beginning Thursday noon, October 31, to give workers ample time to prepare for the observance of “Undas.”
Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea, by the authority of President Duterte, signed Memorandum Circular No. 69 declaring the suspension of government work on Thursday, Oct. 31 starting 12 p.m.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness or response to disaster and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services, however, must maintain normal operations, according to the memo.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has already announced a full alert status ahead of Undas as millions of Filipinos are expected to flock cemeteries to visit their departed loved ones on Nov. 1 and 2. /gsg
