MANILA, Philippines – Parts of Luzon are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Wednesday due to the easterlies affecting the eastern section of the country, the weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), in its daily weather forecast, added that the Bicol region and the provinces of Aurora, Quezon, Cagayan and Isabela will be affected by the said weather condition.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, which is affecting extreme Northern Luzon, will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Batanes and Babuyan Islands, Pagasa added.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers will likewise prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa warned of possible flash floods and landslides in rain-affected areas.
Wind, sea conditions
Extreme Northern Luzon is predicted to have moderate to strong northeastward winds, with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The Visayas and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have light to moderate winds from the northeast to the southeast, with slight to moderate coastal conditions, the weather bureau said.
Mindanao will likewise experience light to moderate wind speeds but from northeast to northwest and coastal waters remain slight to moderate. /gsg
